Kerala
has one of the richest varieties of flora and fauna in India. The
long coast line, dense forests in the Western Ghats, torrid temperature,
abundant rainfall, the high ranges etc., have all contributed to it.
Eravikulam, Periyar and Silent Valley are the three national parks
in the state. There are also many more wild life santuaries too like
the Wynad, Idukki and Thattekadu. The Nilgiri Biosphere Reserves covers
some parts of the state. |
