Kerala
has one of the riches varieties of flora and fauna in India. The long
coast line, dense forest areas in the Western Ghats, torrid zone temperature,
abundant rainfall, high range areas etc., have contributed to the
rich vegetation and flora. Eravikulam, Periyar and Silent Valley are
the three national parks in the state. There are many more wild life
santuaries too like the Wynad, Idukki and Thattekadu. The Nilgiri
Biosphere Reserves covers some parts of the state. |
