EXCLUSIVE! Canadian agency snaps rare photos of the couple

A Canadian paparazzi agency has captured Shania Twain and her reclusive husband Robert John “Mutt” Lange together – and the rare photos are expected to bring in big bucks.

“LDP Images has scooped the world by getting a rare image of Shania and Mutt,” boasts Louie De Filippis, owner of the Toronto-based agency.

Twain and Lange were snapped in New York City.

“They would be careful to enter and exit separately,” says De Filippis. “It was odd.”

The Ontario-bred singer and her husband rarely venture out in public together and have been photographed only a handful of times since they wed in 1993. The couple has a five-year-old son, Eja.

Lange, 58, is the famously private songwriter and producer who does not give interviews and prefers to stay secluded in the couple’s homes in Switzerland and New Zealand while Twain is on the road.

What is known is that Lange was born in Zambia to a German mother and South African father. He moved to England upon marrying singer Stevie Vann, with whom he performed in the band Hocus. Lange turned to producing in the mid-70s and scored his first commercial success with AC/DC’s Highway to Hell.

Lange went on to write and produce for a string of acts including Def Leppard, Foreigner, and The Cars. His greatest success came from working with Canadian singer Bryan Adams – earning an Academy Award nomination and a Grammy for the hit single “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You.”

A strict vegetarian who doesn’t drink alcohol, Lange has also been responsible for Twain’s success, co-writing and producing tracks for her albums The Woman in Me, Come on Over and Up!.
