Shania's label rep: New album 'nowhere in sight'

TORONTO -- As they do every year, Shania Twain fans are gathering at a conference in her hometown of Timmins, Ont., but it looks like new music from the country superstar won't be coming on over any time soon.

A spokesman for her label says a new record from Twain is still nowhere in sight.

The 43-year-old hasn't released an album of new material since 2002's "Up!"

Rumours swirled earlier this year that Twain was preparing a new album for a spring release, but her label rep has confirmed that her next album definitely won't be out this year.

Twain did confirm in a June blog post that she was writing new material.

Twain and former partner Mutt Lange split last year, after he allegedly cheated.

In her blog post, she wrote that she had been "inspired by my pain to write and use writing as a therapy through the suffering."
