It appears as though Canadian singing sensation Shania Twain has quietly tied the knot with Swiss business executive Frederic Thiebaud, PopGoesTheNews.com has learned.

The couple (pictured) arrived in Canada last week wearing bands on their ring fingers - hers is silver with diamonds and his is silver.

Twain, who turns 44 on Friday, Thiebaud, 38, and their children – her son Eja and his daughter Johanna, both 8 – family spent the week at Twain’s remote property on Lake of Bays in the Muskoka region of Ontario.

According to a source, it is likely they married in a civil ceremony at a registrar’s office in Geneva, where records can be sealed. If so, it is the second marriage for both.

Thiebaud is the ex-husband of Twain’s former personal assistant Marie-Anne Thiebaud, who reportedly had an affair with Twain’s ex-husband, music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange.

Twain and Thiebaud, who live in Switzerland, vacationed in New York City, the Florida Keys and Paris last December and were reportedly on a holiday together in Egypt earlier this year.
