Star! Daily: [Speaking to camera](…)we asked her how she’d feel about the spotlight.
[Party For Two (Pop Version) plays in the background]
Shania: I try to just be in the spotlight when I need to be, and I try to stay out of the spotlight when I’m not meant to be in it. I like to blend in…when I’m not working so to speak, I like to blend in.
Star! Daily: Do you ever blend in? I can’t imagine you ever just blending in…
Shania: I blend in well.
Star! Daily: Really?
Shania: I think I get away with it pretty good! [laughs] I work hard doing that!
[Cuts to video scene from Party For Two w/ Mark McGrath]
Star! Daily (Narration): Shania Twain certainly has cause to celebrate back out in the spotlight promoting her second perfume Starlight.
Star! Daily: Well congrats on yet another one, did you design the scent?
Shania: Yes. [Flutters her eyes]
Star! Daily: I pictured Shania in the lab with the little beakers and Bunsen burners.
Shania: [laughs] Yeah you have to get that all cleared. Yeah, no, I’m not an expert in the lab with perfumes. I very involved with personalizing the scent. I direct the scent.
Star! Daily (Narration): And a very different outcome from the first time.
[Shania and Starlight bottles and packages flash on the screen]
Shania: Well the first fragrance, was really, very fresh. More of a daytime perfume. But I wanted something a little more sophisticated. I wanted to compliment that one. I didn’t want to just do the same mood but a different scent, I wanted another mood. A different mood. So this one is more evening.
Star! Daily: So they’re calling this the red-carpet scent and now I understand why. It’s more of like you went from the AM scent Shania to the PM Starlight. Right?
Shania: This is more glamorous.
Star! Daily: Okay where do we properly spray? Do you have a rule Shania?
Shania: Can I spray you?
Star! Daily: Could you please? Oh my God I’m getting sprayed (…) by Shania Twain. I purposely came in nude – perfume wise that is.
Shania: This is the way I wear perfume, okay? I don’t think you just have to wear it on your palms or up here [points to neck]
Star! Daily: Oh really?
Shania: This is where I like to spray it. [Shania sprays hostess behind her ears and in her hair] I like it here.
Star! Daily: Oh it’s lovely, it’s fresh.
[Shania sprays hostess around her neck and shoulders]
Star! Daily: Oh I see what you’re doing there. See, she covers the whole core.
Shania: You have to. [Shania wafts in the smell of her perfume]
