Shania denies part in messy love tangle

Shania Twain last night denied she is in a relationship with Frederic Thiebaud.

The country superstar jetted into New York City earlier in the week accompanied by the ex-husband of the nanny accused of having an affair with Mutt Lange.

A smiling Shania said that Frederic Thiebaud was a 'Very good friend. An old friend' as she climbed into an SUV outside her Manhattan hotel.

Thiebaud was then seen leaving the same hotel on foot just a few minutes after the singer's car had driven away.

Record producer Lange and the stunning singer split in May amid rumours he had grown close to Marie-Anne Thiebaud.

Thiebaud was Twain's longtime secretary and the house manager at the star's estate in Switzerland.

Shania and Lange married in 1993 and were together for 14-years before their break-up was announced.

Lange produced three of Twain's albums 1995's 'The Woman in Me', 1997's 'Come on Over' and 2002's 'Up!'.

He has denied that any affair was part of the break-up of his marriage to Twain, telling People magazine in May, 'It's literally just a growing apart, that's all.'
