Restaurant "As Velhas" has a curious history: It was transformed from a little house. where for several years, two old ladies cooked the traditional Portuguese dishes in the old fashioned ways.

After being refurbished with comfort and elegance, it maintained the original name and inherited the secrets of the tasty traditional food, it is for this reason that it is called "As Velhas", meaning "old ladies" and maintaining a faithful clientele.

Restaurant "As Velhas" is located in one of the most typical areas of Lisbon away from the rush of traffic and in a quite place surrounded by history. Monuments, shopping centers, amusement and transportation to all parts of the city at hand. It's clientele is made up of those "gourmets" who enjoyed traditional Portuguese cooking and savory fish and seafood of our costal water.
