"The sound of the sea
Fulfills our soul
And the color of the sun
Brightens our spirit."

This shop is situated in the heart of this quaint Portuguese fishing village since it first opened it doors in the 1960's. Since then they have had the pleasure of receiving people from all around the world. Many have come as strangers and returned as friends.
Directions:
If your standing by the harbor facing the Hotel Baia just
continue toward the town on the left side of the hotel and you are right there.

They have a very large selection of arts and crafts from all over Portugal. They also provide personal and caring service to their clients.
Portugal is a small country but you will find that it is very diversified. This will be apparent in the wide range and the quality of products that you will find in this shop.
Sweaters
From Cascais you will see the woolen sweaters used by the local fisherman and also from a village in the north, Povoa do Varzim, the sweaters made there by the local woman. Sweaters are available in all sizes from children to men.

Embroideries
Embroideries also come from all parts of Portugal. From Madeira and the Azores come the white and beige embroidered tablecloths, place mates and linens. From Viana do Castelo come the more rustic and brighter works that are embroidered in good cotton and different colors and with typical motives such as flowers, leaves and hearts. From other areas of the North you can also find additional rustic linens.

Ceramics
Ceramics are also a specialty of Portugal. The shop has a very large selection of tiles that you can buy individually or together with wood or cork frames. The ceramics come in many different hand- painted styles, such as (Alentejo, Coimbra). You will see many ceramics such as plates, vessels, vases, lamps, etc.
Barrete - Bonnet

You may still see a few people, in
this country, wearing this colorful Portuguese tradition, and we
have them for sale in our shop so stop by and take home some of this tradition. This very functional hat was a success from its
inception. It comes in three principal colors that distinguished the owners
occupation.
Green bonnet with a red bar - Portuguese
rancher
Black bonnet with a black bar -
Portuguese fisherman
Red bonnet with a black bar - Portuguese
farmer
As tradition has it - it was believed that
the devil hides inside pockets. So the early Portuguese dress normally didn't
include pockets. The Portuguese men needed a place to carry the objects that
they used during the day such as: money, cigarettes, matches, penknives and etc.
So that is the story of how this beautiful and practical bonnet evolved to serve
its two functions well - as a protector from the rain and the sun and as
also a means of transporting these small objects.
