| The Costa Brava has many wonderful things to offer, the foothills of the Pyrenees are closeby with the picturesque Olot and Banyoles a short drive away. Along the coast you can find the bigger resorts of Roses and L'Estartit. For city lovers Barcelona, Figueres and Girona are all within easy reach, the prinicipality of Andorra is a 3 hour drive. Locally you will find plenty of activites including golf, horseback riding, watersports and tennis. For the less sporty, L'Escala has many lovely beaches all given the Blue Flag by the EU. If you walk along the path in Empuries toward the Roman ruins you reach St. Marti where a huge totally unspoilt beach awaits you. This is a particularly child friendly area with many play parks for children. |

| L'Escala is in the Costa Brava region of Spain. A popular holiday area, it is one of the smaller resorts, popular with all ages. It is famous for it's Roman ruins and anchovies. With many beaches and activities in and around L'Escala it is well worth a visit. |
