Biography
This is a band history of Tone Deaf DJ, it includes how they started out, how they got their name, past members and other parts of their history as a band. I am perfectly aware that it is boring but every website about bands seems to have a biography or band history of some sort. So I thought, "Why not conform?" It makes us feel more professional, well, it does for me anyway. For those of you bored enough to be on this site, read and enjoy.
The band known today as Tone Deaf DJ started out in high school. Mudassar started playing guitar first and asked Mark, aka Kojin, if he wanted to start playing music in a band. So it was decided, Mark took up the bass and practiced on the the schools Fender 4 string. The 'band' however wasn't really a band as they were just a guitarist and bassist. No-one could complete the band as no drummers existed in the school at that particular time. So one day Mudassar asked his newly found mate Danny if he wanted to play the drums in the band. Danny insisted on playing keyboard instead, as he had one in his house doing nothing. Eventually he gave in and decided to take a trip to the practice rooms in school to see if he could pick up playing the drums.
After a few months of attempting to play songs by Greenday, Alkaline Trio, Rancid and Millencolin, Danny showed absolutely no sign of musical talent as a drummer until one day when it finally 'clicked' and Danny was a drumming machine.
A year or so went by and Mark got his own bass. Everyone in the band had their own instrument apart from Danny, who had to use the schools kit to practice on for an hour at lunch times every day. After about 2 years of playing the schools rusty old kit and slashing open his knuckles Danny was eventually allowed to buy one, second hand. Finally Danny had his own kit and they could practice outside of school lunch times.
31/12/02 - Mark Warby's house, New Years Eve party, the band, still without a name played a few songs. DJ, some friend of the group, provided the 'vocals'. The band performed ok, however the singer was the only really weak link in the group.
As Dj was a pretty poor singer, and the whole ordeal was caught on tape, Danny decided on a name for the band which would be the only one which pleased everyone.....apart from DJ. The tone deafness of Dj's performance provided the band with a new name, Tone Deaf DJ. Of course Dj left and the band was once again a threesome without a singer.
After Dj, the role of the vocalist was briefly filled by a girl called Sam, by far the best singer as of yet which Tone Deaf DJ have come into contact with. However this didn't last very long, and no-one can quite explain why. Sam and TDDJ just never really bothered to do anything. Ah well.
