April 19th 2004 - Siberia This is the best I've seen these play yet, a fledgling band with only a few gigs under their belts but they're improving all the time. They're one of the few bands that try something different not just the usual punk rubbish many bands around here seem to produce they use drum machines and synth to create drum and bass rhythms which they couple with their effect heavy guitar sound to create something a bit different. Their set was cut short by bad time management on behalf of the organizers, much to the disappointment of an appreciative crowd who kicked up so much of a fuss the organizers were forced to allow Tone Deaf DJ to play another song. They played some of the best songs off their long awaited first album Eject? and a fantastic cover of The Transplants’ Romper Stomper. You can listen to some of the songs and even order a copy of Eject? at http://www.tonedeafdj.tk/

February 11th 2004 - The Roadhous

Tone Deaf Dj's first ever real gig. We were set to be headlining on 11th February and would play all original material, which amounted to 10 songs. There were 2 other bands playing this night, Retrograde and No Known Solution. Retrograde were the first band on and seemed alright. They were a very solid rock band, playing flawlessly (apart from breaking the bass drum skin). Not my kind of music, but something I could appreciate. The second band, No Known Solution were once again another good band, excellent instrumentally but if you don't like metal music you wouldn't like them. They seemed to go pretty damn crazy and had a decent stage presence. After their half hour set, Tone Deaf Dj had to set up in time for 11.00. Our first song, Thanks Taking, was a good way to start the set, although the guitar didn't seem all that loud. Next up was Dictator In Disguise, a fast punk song, which was played pretty well. The set went on, Mudassar did a few shout outs and what not. We played Hi-fi, a techno/punk totally out of time, which is crap seen as its so easy to play. Danny did his little dance routine to some crap happy hardcore song, which then rolled into our heaviest song, Nonsense. Crazy a punk/DnB track was second to last, which was played out of time aswell, crap. The last song, Wok n Roll, we went pretty mental, I got to the front and managed to hit my head on one of the speakers on the roof, whoops. We dragged that song out for a long while and played a one song encore, Romper Stomper (transplants). Alas the end had come, the set was over and was the night. It was a good laugh, we didn't get anywhere near as many people as we hoped, but you have to start somewhere don't you? Mudassar did a good job as frontman, despite comments from some people that he wouldn't be 'frontman material', bollocks. Tone Deaf Dj hope to get a bunch more gigs in the near future... April 20th 2003 - Star and Garter

Overall the night was a success for the first gig with Steady State Theory as the headliners.  Some money was raised for teenage cancer, however Mudassar had to fill in by singing Blackeye because SST forgot to bring along the lyrics sheet.  The other songs went fine, both guitarists had flawless performances and Yoln did his job as expected.  The bass lines were pretty simple so his true talent wasn't quite shown in this gig.  Poor timing  meant that by the end of the night SST had quite a long time at the end of their set to fill.  This was filled by a few poorly done and unplanned Oasis songs such as Don't Look Back in Anger.
March 23rd 2003 - Hilton Suite

A night to remember of 'Music and Comedy'.  Tone Deaf DJ performed for SST along with other acts.  The SST part of the night was probably the most exciting part of the night.  Other acts included some guy in a Hawaiian shirt playing elevator music on his keyboard, a barber shop quartet and couple of mouthorganists,  if that's the correct title, which I doubt it is.  Anyways, you get what i mean.  The night of  'music and comedy' was in aid of the Hillock Hebrew Congregation which are in desperate need of funding to repair their building.  Overall the night was a success, SST impressed parts of the crowd and possibly gained a couple of new fans.  However the distinct sound of SST proved  too much for some of the audience who left in disgust with their hands covering their ears.  The night raised quite a bit of money for the charity, which is always good.

February 16th 2003 - Live For You 2003           Steady State Theory's first ever real gig!!  SST amongst other bands played at the Queens Road Synagogue in Didsbury, Manchester.  Each band could play two songs, one a cover and on original.  SST, after forming a couple of days before the gig, decided to play the Oasis song "Rock and Roll Star" and Carl's 'classic' "Skidmark Sid" or "Skidmarks Sid" as its been often referred to as.  Both songs were played brilliantly by everyone.  Everyone's favorite band at the showcase of 'talent' was in fact SST.  For a first gig, the night couldn't really have gone any better.
December 31st 2002/03 - Live at Mark's  house (new years party)           The band (with no name at that time) performed their first ever gig live at Mark's new years eve party.  Dj served as the singer to a rather disappointed crowd.  Much like SST's gigs the music was good,  but the singing was crap.  Oh well,  nothing lost, in fact the day after the gig the band would be provided with their name, 'Tone Deaf DJ', for obvious reasons as Dj was actually tone deaf that night.
