The
Twins are personified by one word "DELIGHTFUL" – they provide me with
endless hours of joy and fun. In the short time that I have had them,
I have known pain, pride and more love than can ever be known. As I
lost the rest of the litter, I really had no choice but to keep them,
and have never looked back. 2PAC has already
used up 3 of his lives – first by being an FCK (flat chested kitten)
at birth (x-rays at one year old proved that he is 100% fine now), he
then broke his tail, and I managed a small miracle by bandaging
the break with a wide, strong adhesive type bandage. Today his aerial
is in full working order – but with an added bit of character, a nice
big kink!

Saving the "Tail"!!
2 PAC then survived
a horrible and senseless attack by an uncaring human, who shot him in
his chest. The pain he must have suffered is unbearable to me. I have
however learnt a valuable lesson, no more outdoor cats for me. I am
busy having proper cat enclosures built onto my property, and I was
amazed at how well my cats adapted. 2PAC is not one of the most clever
cats I have ever owned, but what he lacks in the brain department, he
certainly makes up for in personality! He is my personal alarm clock,
and is VERY insistent in waking me up every morning at 5. And beware
me if I don't immediately get up – razor sharp claws will dig whichever
part of me he can reach.

2PAC
is also a typical "Flying Tonk" – a real
trapeze artist. One jump and he lands on top of a door. At 18 months,
he is already a very big boy, but he is all muscle. His favourite toys?
Big fluffy spiders made from rabbit fur.
The "Cupboard Inspectors"!!
MELITA
is my little talker, and has the typical "Siamese
voice" that she uses constantly. Of the two, she is the huntress, and
was the first to start bringing in her prey. Madam Melita "surprised"
me one night by leaving a lovely present in my bed for me – a SNAKE
– and alive at that. Sometimes our love for our cats are pushed to the
limits! Today, I provide her with sweet snakes – the same as jelly babies,
and she is quite content to carry these colourful monsters around, and
I sleep much easier! One of Melita's biggest delights is a roll of toilet
paper, and when I buy in bulk, she thinks that Christmas has arrived!
I watched her once, and in 10 minutes flat a brand new roll was demolished
to tiny shards of paper littering the floor. Melita is my enigmatic
little girl, I am never sure in what type of mood she is going to be
in. One day she is the most lovable of things, purring away, craving
attention, and the next she can be found attacking my poor dog Tyson,
who is totally bewildered by this little hell-cat who only the day before
lay purring next to him. Much smaller in size than her big brother,
she sometimes has a hard time keeping up with him, and getting her fair
share of play attention. It must be so difficult to have her big boisterous
brother pushing her aside.
The
Twins were put on Exhibition at a show in Stellenbosch in April 2000,
and wowed the crowds
with
their beauty. I found it strange that the normally more outgoing 2PAC
didn't like proceedings at all, and it was Melita who proved to be the
star on the day.
