The Unicorn Journal |
It only takes one heart to make Fantasia real, and if that heart is unafraid to believe in the impossible, then the boundaries of reality dissolve until fantasy is allowed to roam the world, free and unbridled. |
Katy took it hard when her beloved grandmother died the year she was sixteen. She had always adored the woman's love of fantasy and fairy tales, though Katy, herself, was never one to believe. But when Katy's family was moving into her grandmother's old house, Katy stumbled upon a little red, leather-bound journal, which would in time open a doorway for her into a new world ~ a world that had always existed, but that she was too blinded to see. The pages of the journal takes Katy on a journey, with a girl called Dymphna as her guide, through Scotland in a much earlier time. As she follows along through encounters with a unicorn and more mythical beings, as well as stories of love, deception, friendship, and battle, Katy soon finds that she, too, has the power to believe. And what a wondrous power it is! |

Sadly, TUJ has been rejected by Daw Books, Inc... But even in their letter they admitted that most of our favorite authors have been rejected by their first publisher! I do, however, have something up my sleeve... only a few very special people know what that is... ;) |

L. Frank Balm (The Wizard of Oz), Michael Ende (The Neverending Story), Rauld Dahl (The BFG), Lewis Carroll (Through the Looking-Glass), James Matthew Barrie (Peter Pan), and to all the other wonderful authors who gave me a right, as a child, to believe in the fantasy that I still adore today. |
