Last but not least... Happy V-Day^^~! Hope you guys have a great time^^! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jiro stood in front of the small place they used as a practice room. He rubbed his hands together in an attempt to keep them warm. The cold winter wind blew pretty hard, chilling him to the bone. Damn, he wondered what was taking Hisashi so long... they had finished practice since half an hour ago! What was he doing back there? Sleeping?? On the second thought, maybe Hisashi did fall asleep in there. Afterall, it seemed that he pretty much had a tiring work earlier this afternoon. Should he just go back in there to check on him?? Jiro stared at the chocolate he had in his hand. He had to give this to Hisashi. He just *had* to. He had finished his first two tasks, giving chocolate to Teru and Takuro, which had been pretty easy because they were very close with each other... espescially Teru. Now the main problem was Hisashi. He had no idea what to say to Hisashi... should he just give the chocolate? Or should he speak about something before he give the chocolate? He sighed. He knew it was pretty silly. It wasn't as if he wanted to ask Hisashi for a date or something like that... so why was he so damn nervous? He was just going to give the chocolate to Hisashi which was meant as a friendly gesture. Heh, who was he kidding anyway? He was trying to improve his friendship with Hisashi with... chocolate. It must be because of Teru and all of his little talks about Valentine Day... Jiro had never thought that much about Valentine Day, figuring it was girls' business and if he had any business about it, he was on the receiving end anyway. He would be the one who *got* it from the girls, *not* the one to give it. But of couse, Teru just had his way to make his words wormed up into Jiro's mind. "Valentine's Day is not only for lovers, Jiro-chan," he remembered Teru had said to him yesterday. "It can be for friends also. Anything that's based on love, and isn't friendship based on love too?" So he made his resolutions and last night he had trotted down to the nearest market from his small apartment and had spent quite some times scrunitizing and mulling over the various chocolate on the shelves, wondering which ones he should get for his band mates. In the end, he ended up buying the quite expensive brand. The devil on his left shoulder had told him not to buy the expensive one, because what for? They weren't his lovers anyway! Why should buy something so special that cost him quite some money? But the angel on his right shoulder persuaded him to buy the expensive ones. It was a special day afterall, and he wanted to show to his band mates - his *friends* -- just how much he was grateful for them. He couldn't possibly show that well with cheap chocolates, right? They were his friends, they worthed the money he had spent. After some moments with battle of good and bad had took place in his mind, the angel had won. He should've known and expected it though. So he had excused himself sooner after the practice today, and he had waited outside for his friends to appear from behind the old door. Teru had been the first to come out and he had been very excited over the chocolate Jiro had given him. Teru had seemed genuinely happy and excited and that made Jiro felt happy and warm too. He was so glad Teru was happy with the chocolate. Then again, if there was a person he knew who would be very happy over a bar of chocolate, it would be Teru. Not long after Teru had excused himself - after doing some small talks -- for a date with his girlfriend, Takuro had appeared from behind the door. He had simply raised his brows in a silent inquiry why the bassist had still been there, but Jiro had shrugged it off and with a big grin he had given the chocolate to Takuro. Takuro had laughed and made some remarks about how easy Teru could influence Jiro-chan. When Jiro had blushed and pouted a little, the band leader had just ruffled the bassist's hair affectionately, like an older brother would do, and then walked off telling him not to get too tired in whatever Valentine celebration he might have, because the next day they'd have more practice. But it had been *quite* some times already and where the hell was Hisashi?? He was practically freezing out there! Suddenly he longed to the warmth of his small apartment. He just hope the heater wouldn't broke down. He smiled a little. One day... one day when he - when GLAY got famous, he wanted to stay in a big, comfy apartment... but he wanted to keep his small apartment for as long as he could because the apartment had been the loyal witness of his life and struggles. One day when GLAY got a big break... one day when GLAY got famous... He shook his head fervently, blushing a little to himself. What was he thinking? He just need to get some matches and then he'd be the little girl in that western children stories, litting up the matches and then imagining for the most wanted things... Damn, what the hell was Hisashi doing in there? He was really, really considering the option to just go back to his small apartment and have the chocolate for himself - that'd be a punishment for Hisashi for making him wait so long - when he heard the door creaked behind him. He swirled around and saw Hisashi was staring at him.
Hisashi took a step towards him, shoving his hands into the pockets of his coat, frowning. "What the hell are you doing here?" he asked. "Are you waiting for someone?" "I was waiting for you!" Jiro exclaimed. Hisashi raised his brows, his cool demeanor never changed. "Oh?" he said, almost without any interest. "What for?" "I was waiting to..." he trailed off. Just then Jiro realized that he hadn't prepared and thought bout his opening lines. He actually wanted to speak something - something endearing, that would make Hisashi's coldness towards him melted a little, but... but damn he forgot, and with the chilling wind blowing like this, he'd just better prepare to let go of his hope that Hisashi's coldness would melt. After some moments of silence, spending it by watching Jiro deep in frantic thoughts, Hisashi rolled his eyes and strode past Jiro. "Ja ne" "Matte!" Jiro cried and jogged after Hisashi. "Matte, Hisashi~!" Hisashi stopped abruptly and turned around, hands on his hips, looking annoyed. "What is it, Jiro?" he asked impatiently. It was very cold and he wanted nothing else but hot dinner and then snuggled under the thick blanket. Jiro fished the chocolate from his pocket and shoved it to Hisashi. "Here!" he said. Hisashi blinked and stared at Jiro's hand. Was it chocolate in it? He blinked again and looked up to Jiro who was staring nervously at him. "...For me?" he asked uncertainly. Jiro nodded vigourously. "Happy Valentine Day!" he grinned, almost coyly. He pulled Hisashi's hand then put the chocolate into his hand. Hisashi stared in disbelieve at the chocolate in his hand. It wasn't as if he had never eaten chocolate before but... but this chocolate was not any other chocolate. This one was from Jiro. Jiro the annoying little brat. Jiro who made his head ache. Jiro who fought a hell lot with him. What was it? What was the hidden meaning behind this chocolate? Jiro, seeing Hisashi just stared oddly at the chocolate, peered up at him through his bangs, eyes wide in curiousity. "Doushita no?" he asked. "You don't like chocolate?" Hisashi slowly brought his gaze back to the brunette in front of him. "What does this mean?" he asked. "Eh?" Jiro frowned a little, not really catching Hisashi's meaning. "Well, it's for you! Valentine's day!" "I *know* that," Hisashi grunted. "But... it's not like you to... do this" "Really?" Jiro frowned in reply. So far that he could remember, he liked to give and share things with Teru... and sometimes Takuro too... what was strange with him giving chocolate? "Well, you don't mean it the way I think you mean it... right?" Hisashi asked, feeling a bit uncomfortable. Inwardly he cursed himself for not being able to express his feeling and thoughts well. "The chocolate? Mean it like... " he stared at Hisashi who was already looking uneasy, shifting from foot to foot, and suddenly it clicked. "Gosh no!!" he exclaimed, deep brown eyes widened. "No, I don't mean it like..." Jiro trailed off, blushing to himself. Feeling Hisashi's eyes still fixed on him, he blurted out. "No, I was NOT going to tell you I... uh... Iloveyou," he said quickly. "Damn, where did you get that idea?" Hisashi shrugged. "Well, it's Valentine Day and stuffs..." "No, actually I give it to you is for... um... friendship, you know," Jiro said. "Anou... I just want you to know that... um, I think you're a great friend..." Hisashi could hardly believe his ears. Jiro, *this* Jiro, thought that he, Hisashi, was a great friend??? Despite all the fighting and bantering they had had, he was a great friend? Hisashi stared at the brunette in front of him, who still had that faint pink blush on his cheeks, and suddenly he felt like he wanted to smile. He felt somewhat warm and he felt like he wanted to ruffle Jiro's messy hair. Suddenly he felt... special. Suddenly he felt... loved. "A great friend, huh?" Jiro's head bobbed up and down again. "Yeah. I... I gave chocolate too for Tekko and Takkun... because they're a great friends too..." And suddenly Hisashi felt not so special anymore. Tekko and Takkun. Yeah, of course. How could he be so silly thinking that he was Jiro's greatest friend?? There were Tekko, Jiro's closest friend... of course... Jiro looked up and caught the slightly disappointed look that unconsciously made its way accross Hisashi's face and without thinking he blurted out more. "But... but your chocolate is the biggest! Really!" Hisashi stared at him with unreadable expression on his face as Jiro made a motion with his hands. "Their chocolate are only half as big as yours! Really!" Crap~!, Jiro cursed himself. He had successfully making himself the stupidest person today for Hisashi. He heard a low chuckle and Jiro looked up, staring at Hisashi who was the source of the voice. "Their chocolate is that small?" Hisashi asked, clearly amused. "Uh... not really... but not as big as yours..." Jiro mumbled, his head bowed slightly and he twiddled his thumbs together. And that was indeed the truth. He had thought that he should give the biggest chocolate to Hisashi simply because... well, he was Hisashi. He figured because so far Hisashi was *not* as close as Tekko and Takkun were, so he had to had the biggest chocolate. So that they could get closer. It was a silly thought as it was, Jiro realized then, but last night it had sound like a good idea. Hisashi smiled a little, looking at the miserable looking bassist in front of him. There were times, when Jiro was being so unbearably adorable, that he wondered how come they fought so often. "Jiro," Hisashi spoke, and at the sound of a quite voice calling his name, Jiro looked up, setting his eyes back to Hisashi. At the questions that filled those wide, chocolate orbs, Hisashi let himself smiled a little. "Thank you" Jiro's eyes widened at those sincere words. "...Eh...?" He blinked at the man in front of him. Hisashi brought up the chocolate. "For this," he said. "Thank you. I've never got a chocolate from a friend before, much less a guy" Jiro couldn't help but beamed happily. "You're welcome!" he chirped happily. "Great! I was afraid you wouldn't like it!" Hisashi shook his head at Jiro's behaviour. Sometimes the bassist did look like a young boy. He sometimes had a hard time believing that Jiro was just as old as he was. "You're going to go back home now?" Jiro shrugged. "Dunno... maybe yes, if I don't have anything better to do..." "Wanna crash to the usual bar and have some beer?" Jiro's eyes boggled out hearing the other young man's words. "Just you and me?? Honto ni?" "Yeah..." Hisashi said cautiously. Why was Jiro's reaction like that? Was it *that* strange if he invited him for a drink? Sure he weren't Teru, everyone's best friend, but... "But if you don't want to go with me -" "I want to!!" Jiro exclaimed excitedly, already bouncing on his spot. "Cool!! Let's go!" Hisashi smiled, half relieved, half amused. "Yeah," he said, turning around. "Let's go" Jiro caught up with Hisashi, feeling excited that Hisashi took him for a drink. That meant his mission was successful! Damn, Teru would be proud of him! A comfortable silence draped over them as they made their way through the sea of people, boys and girls holding hands, holding flowers and chocolate and wearing big smiles on their faces. Jiro smiled, feeling the love in air. Maybe from now on, his relationship with Hisashi could get better. Well, he could always hope. But for tonight, he wanted to enjoy the night with his friend, a night that for once, was shared with the guitarist without fighting, bantering or name-callings. He tugged at Hisashi's hand lightly. "Ne, Hisa..." "Nani?" Hisashi asked, turning his head to look at him, and seeing Jiro was smiling sweetly at him. "Happy Valentine Day" ~owari~
