Hisashi smiled at his reflection in the mirror. There he was -- all decked out in a heavily starched collared dress shirt and perfectly creased black dress slacks. Nothing less than perfect, in his opinion. He'd also combed his hair down, opting for the occasional dab or two of hair gel. This was a special dinner and he was determined to look his best for tonight. He took another look at himself and sniffed, his expression becoming thoughtful. //It's still missing something...//

The sun had finally gone down. The clock read 7:36PM...it was time to rock 'n roll. Two figures dressed in black rolled up in a funky white Toyota and parked across from Hisashi's house. The driver, who was dressed in a turtleneck w/gloves and a wool cap, rolled down a window and turned off the engine. His passenger donned a similar outfit, except with black camouflage paint streaked under his eyes, looking like a wannabe football player. "Takky, I took the liberty of bringing absolutely essential spy equipment for tonight," Teru
snickered and pulled out a bag full of 'goodies.' Takuro took the bag from him.

"Oi! It's so heavy!" He then peered inside. "Teru, where did you get all this stuff in such short notice??"

"Oh, I just had it lying around my house," he answered simply and reached into the bag, taking out a pair of infrared night vision binoculars. Takuro's eyes went wide in awe and he sweatdropped. "Impressive, eh?" Teru grinned impishly.

"Uh, yeah," Takuro agreed and took out a little box which contained mirochip-looking devices. "What are these?" he asked and picked one up, examining it very closely. "Oh, that? It's a highly sensitive mircophone, or in other words -- it's a bug."

"Bug? Where?! Where?!" Takuro freaked out and swatted at the air. Teru shook his head and laughed at his friend, who continued to bat at absolutely nothing.

"No, no! Not that kind of bug! A transmitter. See? And we can hear everything anyone says with its mate," Teru held it up, showing Takuro. Takuro sighed in relief and dropped his hands, raising an eyebrow at him. "But, I don't think we're going to need them," he said and took the chip from Takuro, placing them both back in the box and dropping it into the bag.

"Um, ok. You got anything else less high-tech that we could use?" Teru reached into the bag once more. This time, he pulled out a set of walkie-talkies and threw one of them to Takuro, who almost dropped it. "Walkie-talkies?" asked Takuro. "Takk, don't you know anything about spying? These walkie-talkies are a MUST!" Takuro slowly scooted away from Teru.

"Um, I think you're getting a little carried away with this..." Teru pouted. "Really?" The other nodded. "Ok,I'll calm down. Let's just wait for him to come out." Takuro smiled, a bit relieved that his friend wasn't mad at him. Teru leaned back and fiddled with his walkie-talkie while Takuro quietly kept watch on the house across the street.

Hisashi coughed as he opened the bathroom door and stepped into his bedroom, thankful to be breathing the fresh air he found there. But still, the heavy smell of cologne wafted out from the bathroom, making him a little dizzy. He didn't know what possessed him to drown himself in that much cologne...Ok, it was to impress his date; he wanted to smell nice for the occasion.

Thoughts of what could happen tonight raced through his mind and he couldn't help the silly smile that slowly spread across his lips. He walked out to the kitchen, opening the refrigerator and took out the bouquet of roses he left in there.

He snagged his car keys from the hook and stole a glance at his wristwatch. It was already half-past seven and he didn't want to keep his date waiting. Hisashi slipped on his shoes while balancing the bouquet and opened the door, stepping outside into the night air. The sound of crickets chirping greeted him and he smiled, casually strolling towards his car.

He never even noticed the suspiciously parked car across the street...or the two suspicious people lurking inside there.

"Teru! Teru! Here he comes!" Takuro lightly shook one of Teru's shoulders and motioned his hand in Hisashi's direction. "Hounto ni?" Teru asked, quickly sitting up and putting the binoculars to his eyes. "Yeah, he just stepped out and he's getting into his car. Should I start the engine?"

Teru squinted through the binoculars. "Yea, go ahead. Our little romeo's already settled inside." Teru cackled and Takuro started the car, rolling up the window. They watched as Hisashi pulled out of the driveway, driving past them and heading for the freeway. "Hurry, Takky! Or we're going to lose him!" Teru said frantically and Takuro took off after Hisashi, following him down the empty street. After a few minutes, they reached the freeway and Takuro had to be extra careful so he wouldn't lose sight of Hisashi's car. "Keep close to him,
Takuro. If we lose him, then it's all over even before it's begun!"

"Don't worry, Teru. I've got him in my sights." Takuro followed Hisashi's car as he zig-zagged through the traffic. They came to an exit and Hisashi flipped his turn-signal. "Wai, wai! He's getting off here! Follow him!" Teru bounced around in his seat and pointed to the exit. Takuro turned the wheel and followed closely behind Hisashi. Then both cars came to a red light. "This is so exciting!" squealed the vocalist as he turned to Takuro.

"I can't believe we're doing this..." Takuro sighed. "Aw, lighten up! Hey, it's green again! Go, go, go! Ikuze!!" Teru shouted and Takuro plugged his ears. "Oi! All right, all right! Yeesh! You're so demanding!" And Takuro commenced tailing Hisashi's car once more. After a couple other red lights, three left turns and a right turn,

Hisashi finally pulled up to a restaurant and parked in the lot. Meanwhile, the two spies parked a little ways further into the lot near the trash cans in the back.

"We passed his car, Takuro! And he's just walked into the restaurant!" Takuro looked quizzically at the restaurant's fancy sign. "I know, I know! Hey, it's that really nice restaurant I read about in the newspaper. Everybody --"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's dandy and all but let's follow him inside." Teru said and began opening the car door. "Matte!" Takuro reached over him and shut it.

"What did you do that for?" asked Teru, giving Takuro a confused look. "Well, for one, have you seen how we're dressed?" Takuro tugged at his turtleneck sleeve and pointed to Teru's face at the black camouflage paint beneath his eyes. "They'll never let us in, genius."

"Oh...I guess you do have a point," admitted Teru sheepishly as he pulled out a mirror and tissue and began wiping off the paint. He finished and turned to Takuro. "But I'll tell you this, Takuro: We've come too far to give up! Follow me,"

Teru stepped out of the car and waited for his friend. "What are you doing!?" Takuro also stepped out and walked over to Teru. "I have a plan that's going to get us inside -- complete with disguises!" and Teru strutted off to the back door of the restaurant, knocking three times. Takuro ran up to him as the door opened to reveal a scowling teenaged girl. Takuro halted in his tracks and froze. //Eeh! Scary...// But Teru was unfazed and he gave the girl his most charming smile.

"Hello, there. I'm Kobashi Teruhiko and this is Kubo Takuro. We're...well, I'm sure you know who we are," Teru laughed. The scowl was still there. Then he sweatdropped.

"Um, what are you people doing back here?" the girl asked, exchanging glances with the two guys in black.

"Ano, could you help us get in here?" Takuro asked hopefully. The girl crossed her arms over her chest, "Why don't you try the front door?" The sarcastic remark, followed by a smirk, effectively shut Takuro up. Teru spoke up, getting the girl's attention again, "Ok, if you'll let us in, get us some uniforms, and keep quiet about this whole thing, then we'll gladly pay you a lot of money for your troubles. Deal?"

The girl took a moment and thought about it. "How much money?" "What do you say to 10,000 yen??" Teru and Takuro crossed their fingers.

"No." >thud<

They facevaulted. //I'm beginning to reconsider this whole spying thing...// Takuro thought miserably and sat down on the dirty step near the door. They both had a feeling that they were going to be out here negotiating for a while...
