The room was cold, the air conditioning on at full blast. Shivering, Hisashi rubbed his arms vigourously with his hands, hoping to bring warmth back to them through the rough friction. He wished that the interview would be over soon. The interviewer, a bubbly, enthusiastic, -airheaded, Hisashi secretly thought to himself- girl of 20 was asking them questions blithely. Needless to say, she didn't look like she was going to stop anytime soon. Hisashi sighed, and wished he was somewhere else. Anywhere else. As if noticing his discomfort, the interviewer said, "Okay, I only have 3 more questions left." There is a god, Hisashi thought. However,
he immediately took that thought back when the girl turned to Hisashi,
and asked, "So...are you getting along Beside him, Teru went into a laughing fit.
Diagonal from him and across from Teru, Takuro smiled. Hisashi glared
at both of them before turning back to the girl seated at the head of
the square table they were seated at. Hisashi carefully avoided the eyes
of the Glay member seated across from him The girl looked crestfallen, "No comment...?" Hisashi gave her a look, "Hai." Unwilling to give up, the girl turned to Jiro, "What about you, Jiro-san? Are you getting along better with Hisashi-sam?" Jiro flashed her his trademark smirk, "It depends on how you define getting along." Hisashi's head snapped in Jiro's direction. That's not what we agreed to say! Hisashi thought, glaring at the blond man in front of him. What the hell is he up to now? He better not blow this for us! Unbeknown to the public, Hisashi and Jiro
had been lovers for a good year and a half already. However, no one, save
Takuro or Teru, knew. The two And what better smokescreen was there than pretending that you hated each other? Granted, the smokescreen wasn't entirely a lie. They had hated each other in the beginning when they had first met, but that feeling had slowly eroded as they got to know each other better. Ironically enough, the catalyst for their change was also an interview. There was an interview where the members of Glay got to ask each other questions. Takuro had asked Jiro if he was still mad for totally his car, and Teru -Hisashi paused, he couldn't quite recall what Teru had asked at that time- well, anyway, Teru asked Jiro some questions too, and lastly, it had come to Hisashi and his questions. Hisashi had asked Jiro if Jiro hated him. He had expected Jiro to say, "Well, yah" but much to his surprise, Jiro had replied by saying, "Well, I think we're too much alike. Let's go have dinner together, and get to know each other better." That had started it all, and ever since then, Hisashi secretly considered himself blessed that him and Jiro were together. However, he was not feeling blessed right about now. Sending Jiro a look that said, "What the hell do you think you're doing, you idiot?!?" Hisashi tried his best to glower subtly at lover. Unfazed, Jiro grinned cheekily at him. "I have no comments other than that," He told the girl formally. The girl looked disappointed but she let the matter drop, "Ah--souka? Okay." She quickly turned to Teru, "Now Teru-san, people have been asking about you and Ami..." Seeing a look of panic flash quickly through Teru's face before it settled into his usual friendly expression, Hisashi couldn't help but feel smug. It was /his/ turn to laugh now.
Jiro grinned, "She was getting to be so tedious that I thought it would be fun just to throw her off-track a bit." He shrugged, "That's all." "That's all?" Hisashi repeated, incredulous. "What if you had blown our cover?" "I wouldn't have," Jiro said confidently. "Trust me." Hisashi gave Jiro a look, "Don't be so sure about it. I mean, if you had accidently let loose a small slip then--" "But I /didn't/," Jiro pointed out. "So don't worry about stuff that hasn't happened yet, okay?" Before Hisashi could reply, he took off the windbreaker he was wearing and tossed it to Hisashi over the table, "Here." Hisashi caught the light bundle, "What's this for?" "I saw you shivering the whole time during the interview," Jiro said. "I wanted to give it to you earlier but I couldn't, you know." Hisashi looked at Jiro, surprised, "You noticed?" "Aa," When Hisashi didn't move, Jiro said somewhat impatiently. "Well, put it on!" "Oh," Hisashi had felt so touched by Jiro's gesture that he had honestly forgotten all about the jacket. Quickly, he slipped the jacket over his thin long-sleeved shirt. Jiro watched silently as Hisashi zipped the windbreaker up to his chest, leaving the collar open. When Hisashi turned his attention back to Jiro again, Jiro said with a sudden seriousness, "Don't worry, okay? I wouldn't have told her our secret." He smiled, "After all, some secrets are only meant for two, ne?" Hisashi stared, surprised and then smiled, "Though in our case, more than two know our secret." When Jiro looked at him blankly, he prompted, "Teruand Takuro?" Jiro blinked, and then laughed, "Well, I guess there's an exception to everything, ne?" He nudged Hisashi's foot under the table. Hisashi smiled and nudged Jiro's foot back, "Aa." ***OWARI*** |
