My home in Sicily |
When I first arrived here on the Island, I must admit I was somewhat imitated by the vast differences between this culture, and the one I'd been so used to in America.
Even though I've literally been around the world, Italy sent a chilling reality through me that I haven't previously felt elsewhere. More than any other, I think it was the fact that most of us in
America today are decendents of what resides in my backyard...Europe. I know...It's like DUH Tony, what planet have you been living on for the last 200 years? But seriously, it's one thing to know
it, yet another to explore it. And to have the opportunity to live over here has been, and will continue to be, a great adventure indeed.
The pictures I provide for you on this page are of Motta S. Anastasia, the town where I live here in Sicily. It's a nice small town that slopes down a hillside with the castle at the
top. When you stand next to the castle there's a beautiful view of Mount Etna.
Standing in all it's glory, Mount Etna is considered to be the tallest, most active Volcano in all of Europe. So believe me when I tell you, it is in fact very much alive. It has a
tendency to go off about once a couple of months, but just stands smoking most of the time.
Anyway, enough of that... Enjoy the pictures!
