Three Important ideas from this section that I most want to remember.
1. I want to remember the Five Foundational Lessons. They explain how we all act everyday. We all are constantly making decisions, we are all biased, we all make value judgments, we all make life-changing decisions, and we all need to make faith decisions. These five truths explain how we all act everyday. By understanding these five truths, we can realize how important our decisions are and we can learn to make the best decisions we can.
2. Plato's Allegory of the Cave was a very important part of this section. Reading this helped me realize that as a part of human nature we are born into a world of ignorance. We are not in the cave because of our decisions, we are born there, but we can find a way out by seeking the truth in the world.

3. The story of the Blind men and the Elephant is very important to this section. It reinforces the idea of the the Allegory of the Cave. The Blind men except their world as reality when what they think an elephant is is not really what an elephant is. The story of the Blind men and the Elephant can help us find ways of seeking the truth so we can know what is reality and what is ignorance.
These important ideas all help us summarize the key idea of this section.
Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." This whole section is trying to get us examine our lives so we can seek the truth. It is hard to seek the truth. For the blind men, truth and reality is very hard for them to comprehend. The blind men, like the people in the cave, do not know that they are in darkness. Most of us do not know, realize, or accept that we are in darkness. This makes it very difficult to seek the truth but by stepping back everyday and examining our lives we can come closer to finding what is real and true.
Do I examine my life and how well do I do it?
I try to examine my life everyday, but it is very difficult. It is something that we need to make ourselves do. I think about what I have done today and I think if it is helping me become who I want to be. I often do things I regret and say to myself, "I don't want people to remember me like this." This helps me seek truth in the world so I usually step back to examine my day at least once, but just examining is not everything. We need to realize, by examining our day, what we need to do to help us better or lives in faith.
