Faith.
In the Readings Book faith in a secular sense is allegiance to a duty or person. It also says that faith means complete trust. This is a very questionable statement. We must think about this. Do any of us really have complete trust in any one thing. But most of us say we have faith in many things. Our friends or parents or other things, but we do not always have 100% complete trust in them. This is why I disagree with faith being complete trust. I do believe that there are levels of faith. There is good and bad faith. Someone could have total faith in the Devil but that would be bad. Faith is God can be good, as long as it is not blind. If one only had faith in god because they were told to, then that would be foolish. We need to question or faith. What do we have it in and is it good. That I think is the main point of this section.


3 Things I Want to Remember from this Section.
The first thing I want to remember is the interview with. The thing I most remember her saying is about she grew up in Ireland. Men who faught for Ireland were portrayed as heroes fighting the tyrannic Britian. This portral was by the country of Ireland itself, and of course she believed it. But in Britian it was obvious that Ireland was portrayed as the lowly ingrateful rebels causing havok with unnecessary revolt. It is easy to see why she believed what she did when the English believed such different. Her faith in her government meant that she believed what they told her. Is that wrong? It is hard to know, and again is why we should examine our faith.

Second, I want to remember the Mission movie. What I obtained most from the movie is how both Father Rodrigo and Father Gabriel were men of faitht in different ways. Rodrigo fought but Gabriel stayed peacefully but they were both decisions made out of faith for what the believed was right. Check out my paper on them. My Mission Paper

Third from this section, I very much want to remember the story about Dick Hoyt. We read a sports illustrated artcile about him. He has a son who has had permanent brain damage since birth. After being told that his son would be a vegetabe for his whole like by doctors, Dick decided to prove them wrong. They enter marathons and triathalons with Dick pushing his son in a wheelchair or in a seat attached to his bike or in a dingy behind him while he swims. The doctors also told Dick that his son had nothing going on in his head but Dick proved them wrong when he told him a joke and he laughed. Now the invented a computer that allows his son to communicate with him. It types the words that he thinks and now because Dick had faith in his son and never gave up on him, Dick is an inspiration for everyone.
