Edgar and Bessie were ma rried in Lynchburg, Va. at St. Paul's
On Edgar's tombstone is

I have kept the
Edgar and Bessie moved to New York after living in Fleetwood. They
lived in
house named Mamarneck and grew flow ers. The city they lived in is on
the
above New York
Fleetwood is in Brandy Station, Virginia on Fleetwood Heights Rd.
Heights Rd. is off Hwy 29. If you are going south on Hwy 29 the town
of
Station is on the left. Instead of ta king a left into Brandy Station,
take
right hand turn. After you turn right, Fleetwood Heights Rd. is the
street on the right. Fleetwood (the old house) is about 1 1/2 miles
turning right on Fleetwood Heights
Edgar Freeman sold Fl eetwood to the Williams family (Alex Wood's
brother). It is now owned by the Pound family. The Trilo family live
on
couple acres of Fleetwood land that t hey purchased from the Pound
There were one or more owners between the William s and Pound family,
but I
not know who they were. For over 10 years there ha s been a court
battle
what can be done to the land. One owner wanted to buil d an amusement
Another owner wanted to build a racetrack. Thanks to a coaliti on
Audrey Austin and Clark Hall) the owners of the land have not been
able
c ommercialize the area. Efforts are now being made to make the land
into
park . A famous civil war battle was fought there and someday we all
hope
will be come a state
