Tonight, Plaid Moon was to play their farewell show, but unfortunately, Ana had already departed a week previous. So Elizabeth and Alexa played a few songs tonight and invited me to play bass with them. I did, and after that set was over, they invited Nathan Payant and I to play selections from our solo projects. Nathan played first and I felt strange following him because he's really good. But I had fun.
Before playing Seldom the Optimist, I told the crowd the abbreviated story behind the song and told them we could all handle a little optimism in these crazy times. I then dedicated to the girl who gave me a jawbreaker, because it made me happy. More people should do simple things to make others happy.
