Calallen Vs Pflugerville: Wildcats of the Game: Anita and Brittney Danaher, even in defeat 20-7, they hold their heads up high. Yes, we are still Number One! |

 |
Wes Danaher scored 27 touchdowns, and rushed for 2429 yards in 1993 as a sophomore.
As a junior, Wes was a member of the Wildcats who finished the season with a 13-2 record. What was important Wes scored in every game in the 1994 schedule, a loss against Gregory-Portland; Wes scored two touchdowns, and in the season finale against LaMarque he scored once. It was a scoring-streak that went from October 9, 1993 through September 16, 1995, a total of 28 consecutive scoring games, and passing his alumnus brother; quarterback Cody Danaher who had scored 27 consecutive games.
As a freshman, Wes scored 7 touchdowns, Sophomore 27 touchdowns, and now as a junior he would go and rip the opposition for 36 touchdowns.
I, for one, and many of the Calallen Fans, loved to see Wes run for touchdowns, especially the long ones, 60, 70 and I even remember a 90 yard run, and I remember the defender closing the gap, unfortunately, the field ended, and Wes safely had his score.
On December 10, 1994, LaMarque ended the Wildcat season 36-14.
1994 was a very good year for Wes and the Calallen High School Fightin' Wildcats.
The best was yet to come.
| 2004 quarterback Jordan Chambless and 1995 running back Wes Danaher, undoubtedly, the two best players in Calallen Football History. Jordan ran for 6000-plus yards and Wes for 8855 yards. Superior athletics, scholarships: Jordan went to Texas A & M, and Wes to Southern Methodist University. |
The fine football Season by Junior Wes Danaher and the 1994 Fighting Wildcats.
