STEP 12...
Now it is time to get out of my small kitchen and go outside ! Once again I cleaned the hood with the alcohol to get it ready for the clearcoat.I used Dupont,Nason SelectClear 496-00 clearcoat and mixed it with the hardner at a ratio of 4 to 1.I buy it by the quart and the hardner comes with it and it costs about 30 bucks at the auto paint shop here in town.I hated to have to spray this outside, but my building is too small for this big hood ! I broke out my Devillbiss Automotive Spraygun (made in the USA) and I applied a smooth coat of clear, let it set about 7 or 8 minutes and applied another coat.I repeated this step 4 times.Well with 4 coats of clear applied now,all I done was let it dry and WAAAAA LAAAAA ! I am done !See how I wittingly covered up the putty where the hole was with a white star? This way I didn't have to try to match up the blue paint on the hood !
