Landforms:
A Web Quest
Introduction
Landforms are natural features that make up the Earth's surface. Natural just means that people didn't make them; nature did.
Task
1. You will view examples of landforms in the United States.

2. You will locate the places where these landforms can be found.

3. You will make an illustrated Landform Dictionary.
Procedure
1. Print a copy of this USA Ouline Map.

2. Take a look at these
landform examples in the United States.

3. Locate the state where each landform example can be found..

4. Label the state with the landform type (i.e. butte, canyon, etc).

5. On the lined side of a 5"x8" index card, write a landform type and definition. Do one for each landform.

6. On the blank side of your index card, make a drawing of the landform.

Locate the following landforms on your globe or atlas. You can also try searching on WorldAtlas.com. Print and label this outline map with your discoveries.

Japan (archipelago) - hint: It's part of Asia.

Kamchatka Peninsula - hint: Check out east Russia.

Cape Horn - hint: It's on the continent of South America.

Madagascar (island) - hint: Turn your eyes to Africa.

Bay of Biscay - hint: By France..no by Spain! Well, Europe.

Isthmus of Panama - hint: Between Central and South America

Gulf of Carpentaria - hint: Follow Australia's north coast.

Ural Mountains - hint: Try Russia.

Bay of Bengal - hint: Search by India in Asia.
