No shout outs for Jesse.  None.  Yesterday was my birthday.  My new cat's ear mites and worms are almost completely gone.  Now we just have to chop off his balls and rip out his claws.  He's gonna love that.  I did lots of updates to the site today, but not near enough.  I really gotta step it up!!!

Everyone should hit up Bison Witches in Lincoln for the Midnight Madness event starring Axes to the Sky on February 5th at 11pm.  Come on...it's free beer and galloping heavy metal goodness.

Another can't miss show is the Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Behemoth, Devil Inside show at the Ranch Bowl in Omaha on February 10th.

If you're still craving the rock, you're gonna have to rock with Planes Mistaken For Stars, Kylesa, and Axes To The Sky at Duffy's on February 22nd.  It's dollar beer night on that night, so grab a bite to eat and get your drink on.

Nathan Gale stormed the stage during the first song of the Damageplan concert last night, shooting and killing Pantera founder and Damageplan guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and three others before a police officer shot and killed him.  One of the first albums I ever purchased was Pantera's Far Beyond Driven album.  That changed my taste in music drastically, introducing me to the wonderful world of heavy metal.

Well, I've been working on converting some of my live tapes to the computer and into mp3 form.  It's been pretty fun listening to all those local shows again.  Check the downloads section, as I will be posting a lot of new songs for you peeps to enjoy.  I've got interviews with Ezra (from Lincoln) and Paria (from Omaha) in the works.  Paria is on tour promoting their new album, Misanthropos on the Black Market Activities label.  You can download the title track off of that album HERE (right-click and choose save as).  My computer problems are completely fixed.  I am back in action.  Full force.  Hard f'n core.  Oh, did I mention my printer scans but won't print.  The computer tells me there isn't even a printer hooked up, but I can scan images on it.  So maybe the computer problems still aren't fixed.  Eventually.  It will all work out someday.  Go see Ezra when they play at Knickerbockers on December 1st.  It's a rare treat, and they have the original drummer back!  The show review section is now active, and there is a new album review for the new Converge album.  Much thanks again to Joe Younglove, for without him, my web space would be barren.  Buy Joe a can of soda-pop next time you see him.  I think I'm done with the wacky cat phase for the front page photos.  Now the photos will just be wacky.  I'm getting wacky writing this news update, so...until next time.

The Boycaught interview imploded upon itself, so I went ahead and interviewed Zane about his solo acoustic project.  The album review section is also in action now with reviews for the new Today is the Day album and a 1994 release from Chris Burke (yes, Corky from Life Goes On).  Thanks a lot to Joe Younglove for stepping up and writing those amazing reviews.  Just a reminder, if anyone would like to contribute anything to this website, feel free.  I was lying about my brand new computer, I guess. Now it looks like it'll be shipped off for repairs again.  I'm gonna flip here real soon...

Well, I get my new computer back tomorrow, turns out it was the fan inside not working properly and allowing the processor to overheat.  That's a bunch of crap.  They charged me for virus removal, but refuse to tell me the name of the virus that they "removed".  Oh well.  I'll live.  The new photos of Axes to the Sky live at Sokol Underground are definitely awesome.  Please check them out.  I'm interviewing Boycaught tonight and hopefully Wasteoid within the week.  Expect a lot more regular updates now that I have my speedy new computer back.  Hopefully my mom writes me soon.  She hasn't been up to par recently with the witty e-mails.  I still love her.  It was my parent's anniversary a few days ago, and it's my mom's birthday today.  Congratulations!!!  I am moving at the end of the month also.  I'm going to be roommates with Bo-Bina and Maxi-Pad.  Should be a fun time in the 'hood.  We've got wood floors, a large balcony, and I get my cat J.D. back!!!  I miss her so much.  My sister Mandy is probably mad or glad I'm taking her back after a year and a half of baby-sitting J.D.  I can't tell.  Ok, I'm just rambling on, so check back soon for the new interviews and keep looking up!?!?!?

I added a Letters From Mom section and a Photos section to the site recently.  Pretty self-explanatory.  The only photos in there now are from the One Punch Homicide show at Knickerbockers, but there will be more someday.  Mom, I'm sorry, but I told a lot of people about some of the emails you send me, and they thought they were hilarious in a good way, so I posted a couple of them.  Thanks for the contribution to the site.  We're making people smile.  :)

There is now a message board here.  If for any reason you need to voice any important or unimportant info, go for it.  If you are a user of the Star City Scene message board, you can log in with your same username and password.  My buddy Chris gave me this sweet handheld tape recorder to make band interviews less complicated.  If your band would like a raw, retarded interview, or a serious, thoughtful interview to be posted on this site, let me know and we'll call it a date.  I've added a few more photos and updated the monthly listings a bit, so check them out.  Anything else?  I think this is cashed.

This site is ad-free now, so that annoying pop-up window shouldn't appear anymore.  The new downloads section seems to be functioning quite well, and I'll be adding more songs for download very soon, but for now check out Chris Johnson's psychotic noise remix of Wasteoid's "Better Hate For Living" and an exclusive track from the Fallen 77 titled "Devil Bat" from their 5 song EP.  If you would like a copy of the Fallen 77's EP, e-mail me and I'll get it out to you as soon as possible.  Bye for now.

Rockin' show at Duggan's last night.  One Punch Homicide, Youth In Asia and Boycaught definitely brought the punk.  I got a rare opportunity to sit down with the boys from One Punch Homicide for an exclusive interview in a dark alley behind the rock venue.  Probably one of the most insightful and realistic looks at the band ever accomplished.  I want to hug them, they're so cute.

Excellent...the Axes to the Sky interview is in, and boy is it a dandy.  Expect more interviews with them through their forthcoming newsletter.  The guys hinted at a fan club, but more on that some other day.  Get over to their interview now.   Pleez.

All of the show listings have been refurbished and are looking great.  Do you like it?  I do.  (Hey Sam, what's up?!)  Enough of the goofing around.  The first sad news has already happened.  I did a friggin' kick ass interview with Axes to the Sky yesterday, but I learned later my roommate's microphone had a dead battery!!! (Thanks a lot Shov!!! haha!!!)  Whoever heard of such a thing?  They are top notch pin-on mics with this bass reducing filter/box type thing.  Oh, well.  I'll just have to interview them again tonight, and I will work on getting the interview turned to mp3 form for download on this site.  Wouldn't that be the best thing in the world...

Well, I'm teaching myself how to design this website as I go.  Do you like it?  I do.  One of these days I will learn how to add photos and this site will be the bomb.  A few bands (Ideal Cleaners, Thunderstandable, Rent Money Big, and Vanishing Point Maybe) have kindly added links from their sites to mine.  Thank you very much guys!!  I realize that I can't list every show in the Midwest, but if your band would like to have your shows listed here, e-mail me at lincolnlivemusic@hotmail.com and I will gladly add them.  Well, back to work on the website, I'll talk to you all later.
