Plot Points!

Plot Points are used to raise Skill Levels, Shtick Levels, buy Shticks, and other things. There are only a few rules governing Plot Points.

First of all, each Plot Point will raise a Skill Level by +1. Second of all, it takes 2 Plot Points to raise a Shtick Level +1. Third of all, Shticks can only be bought with Plot Points when you create your character, not after, however you can purchas Temporary Shticks and One Shot Shticks.

Temporary Shticks cost 3 Plot Points (if you have them, this is a no-credit basis). You can then take any Shtick you want at a Level of 5. This Shtick can be bought right before the cartoon begins and goes away forevermore after the cartoon ends. The Animator can feel free to explain this sudden gain of awesome power through the fortuitious finding of a Weird Thing, like alien artifacts, supre high-tech gadimacallits, or anything else funny.

One-Shot Shticks cost 1 Plot Point (up front) when you want it, and gives the character the ability to perform any Shtick ... once, then it goes away. This Shtick also starts at Level 5, but it lasts until it is finally used successfully. If you fail, you can keep trying at it until the cartoon ends.

If you have extra Points to Throw around, you may also be interested in Extra Hit Points if you're a big creature (2 Plot Points per +1 Hit Point when characters are created). You can also buy a Gizmo for 1 Plot Point.

Gizmos are Unusual Items that, when you pull them out of your Back Pockets during a game, become anything (limited to Animator approval and silliness, as usual). The Gizmo is then stuck in that form for the remainder of the cartoon and then reverts back to "Gizmo" when the cartoon ends. Of course the drawback is that all Gizmos have a 50% chance of being Shoddy.
