Basic TOON Character Creation Rules

On your character sheet, you will see:
Name (your character's name)
Species/Occupation (what species your character is, and any job it works at)
Beliefs & Goals (How does your character think, act, behave, and why)
Natural Enemies (any other Species that your character must make Fall Down)

After that, you will see Attributes with Skills under them.
The four Attributes are:
MUSCLE - physical strength
ZIP - speed and agility
SMARTS - intellectual abilities
and
CHUTZPAH - pushiness, nerve, confidence.

To get your four basic Attributes randomly, simply roll one die for each (1d), all dice for TOON are six-sided. This will get you a number from 1 to 6 for each of your attributes to create a random character.

If random stats are not your cup of tea, then you can choose 14 points to arrange into your stats from 1-6.

For your skills, they all start out at the level of the Attribute they're under (for instance, a Run of 4 if your ZIP is 4).
To raise a skill's level, you can spend a Skill Point. This will give any skill's level +1, to a maximum level of 9. Everyone starts off with 30 skill points, but don't spend them right away, you can buy Shticks with them.

Shticks are special things that charactoon characters can do. Say you want to make a cat with a magic bag, and his name is... Filex the Cat, yeah, that's it. Your magic bag will turn into whatever item you need anytime you want! This is a Shtick. When you see a road runner disappear in a puff of smoke, that's a Shtick! Each Sthick has a point cost, spend your Skill Points to buy your Shticks, they all start at a skill level of 5. You can raise a Shtick's skill level when you earn Plot Points.

Plot Points are the points you get after playing a game of TOON. The funnier your character is in the game, the more Plot Points the Animator will give you. For an average-lengthed game, 1-4 will about do it.
