Tootsie rolls out her 'senti' side
Just like the songs in her album ''Sa Puso Ko'' (which was awarded gold in ''A.S.A.P'' last Sunday), Tootsie Guevarra is sentimental in so many ways and all of these are revealed in her bedroom in Cainta Rizal.

Shelves, walls, and an antique wooden chest serve keepers of Tootsie’s knick–knacks, each of these little objects having a significant value to her.

Inside the wooden chest, which Tootsie inherited from her mom, are pictures of Tootsie’s family, friends and even suitors! All of which are segregated in specific photo albums.

Tootsie’s smiling face can’t help but attract a number of boys to her side, whether from showbiz or not. But she’d rather keep the letters in the baul to herself.

“Pamana ni mommy sa akin yang baul. Aside from photographs, I also keep all my love letters there and notes on heartaches, lahat ng secrets ko. I just want them there for remembrance,” tells 21–year–old Tootsie.

From the wooden chest, we moved to a four–tier shelf where miniature figurines of angels, dogs, and a Minnie Mouse toy are on display at the topmost plank. Tootsie’s pretty fond of small items but the angel items are mostly gifts from friends. She won’t search nonstop for these cute objects because they do not fascinate her much, she’s starting to collect tiny shoe figurines though. As of this writing she has one with a cow’s skin design.

Designer’s wardrobe is a trivial concern for Tootsie despite living in the sophisticated world of showbusiness yet she’s grateful to the inventor of shoes. Her obsession for footwear often drives her to purchase expensive pairs without considering her expenditure.

“You can make me wear any dress, pero when it comes to shoes, I make it a point to spend. Ayoko bumili ng mumurahin na sapatos because I’m after the quality kasi ang sapatos araw–araw mo ginagamit yan di ba,” explains Tootsie.

Apart from shoes, Tootsie is also crazy over the colors green and gold but the former is more noticeable in her room. Her closet doors, cotton drapery on the window, study corner and bathroom emit the freshness that the shade of green always contains.

Adding warmth to Tootsie’s small bedroom are halogen spotlights on the ceiling. Spending most of her free time in this part of their house, Tootsie prefers the wholeness of it a pleasant view to her eyes.

“I don’t like white light kasi mainit. Only my study corner has it. When I’m here I just love to sleep so halogens are suitable for me,” says Tootsie.

By the way, did you know that Tootsie has the weird sleeping habit of waking up at dawn just to clean her room and then goes back to bed afterwards?

“Maybe it’s because I don’t depend on others to clean my room. I do the cleaning and rearrangement of my room all the time. But you know, sometimes I also talk in my sleep,” shares Tootsie with jest.

She’ll sure miss her bed this September as she leaves the country for Saipan with Lance Raymundo for a series of shows. October would still not be a month of ‘home sweet home’ for Tootsie as she proceeds to Japan with the South Border and Jeffrey Hidalgo for another set of performance.

That explains why this girl with a sweet name prefers the comforts of her simple room for she has to bear being away from it in the coming months.
