I am the only one to blame for putting myself in this rut
I do have my regrets as I feel them in my gut
You may dislike me forever or perhaps give me another try
I can promise that you will see my victory before I die

This may be my eight hundredth poem written in my life
I do everything I can to assure all things go right
I feel like a ten year Veteran and the best is yet to come
I will achieve honor and I will finally have my fun

Yes I am forever grateful that you have put up with me
It is because of you that my talent will allow everyone to see
