It was that October day in seventy seven when the plane went down
Some managed to survive while others were Heaven bound
They did what they could in their sudden state of shock
After mourning and recuperation they would continue to rock

A bird is remembered
Still long after it was set free

The one which gave hope to you and me

The bird is known as Lynyrd Skynyrd from Jacksonville, Florida
They're best known for hailing the anthem "Sweet home Alabama"
Their music lives on the radio and the stage to this very day
Every day they live on is considered a blessing as they pray

It's miraculous at how some things will work out in life
Let's take from our lost ones to not live our lives in strife
We've only got one life, let's all live it as simple as we can
Together we can all fly in peace everywhere across the land
