Abba came to me in June of 2000 as a foster dog for DalSavers. It was not long before he owned me, instead of me fostering him. He weighed 45 lbs when his normal weight is 60 lbs. He had not been trained and appeared to need lots of TLC. We started with housebreaking and worked on. He was eager to learn once he realized that this was his home and he would be loved.
Abba has started his C.D. training. He went to his first fun match in April, 2002. I was very pleased with his response to the dog show atmosphere. He greeted strangers with enthusiasm and soaked everything in. He was very distracted, but that is to be expected. He attended his second fun match the first of June, 2002 and again pleased me. He did the exercises with attentiveness this time. I hope to someday put a Companion Dog title on him.
Abba obtained his Dog Scout of America certification during the summer of 2005. We had a lot of fun and he enjoyed a lot of new experiences.
Abba has taught me that with time and patience, most dogs can turn around from any situation.
