Gymnastics:

Marina is very powerful and a good tumbler. Her best events are floor and bars. Her weakest events are vault and beam. Marina's tumbling is very good and coming from a Russian background also has good form. She also enjoys bars. Her swings are very clean with nice form and her releases all have good form and nice height. On vault Marina competes 2 rather difficult vaults but still needs to work on form a little bit. Marina's worst and least favorite event is beam. Her routine is pretty difficult but she isn't very consistent.

Biography:

Marina Isabelle Maelinskova was born on July 17th, 1988 in St. Petersburg, Russia. Her parents Ivan and Ekaterina had been gymnasts in the 70s and 80s and coached the Elite gymnasts at the St. Petersburg School Of Gymnastics. Marina started gymnastics at the age of 3 and fell in love with the sport. She rose up the levels quickly and started competing by the age of 5. When Marina was 9 she competed at the Russian Level 10 Junior Championships. She became an Elite shortly after and competed at her first Russian Nationals at just 10 years old. She competed at a Junior International meet in Russia at 10 and by 11 was competing in more International Meets. Marina went to Topopolilly for a little but became homesick and went back to Russia. She decided to try Topopolilly again and stayed this time. When Topo closed again for renovations Marina went back to Russia for a little but then came back to train at Cascade Locks. Marina then made the decision to train at Crystal Lake with her younger sister Tatiana. Marina is excited about coming back to Topo and hopes to improve even more.
