OPILLY versus LILLY
Meet Notes
Opilly has the advantage of seven gymnasts to Lilly's five, but Lilly scored higher in the preliminary round. Opilly will get to drop its two lowest scores on each event.
Dominique Miller, Lilly:
Solid on all events. Best score 9.525 on beam. Scored 9.2 on vault, 9.325 on bars (hit routine after fall on first day!), and 9.35 on floor.
Marina Melinskova, Lilly:
Very strong performance. Started with repestable scores of 9.275 on vault and 9.3 on vault; finished with huge 9.5 on beam and 9.55 on floor. All-around total of 37.625 is third highest of the night.
Jenna Riordan, Lilly:
Falls on vault (8.625) and beam (8.6), but decent scores of 9.2 on bars and 9.075 on floor exercise. Competed despite still recovering from illness, and scored more than a point higher than day one.
Elizabeth Jarvis, Opilly:
Sat down 2 1/2 twisting Yurchnko on vault for 8.6. Small form breaks on bars resulted in 9.1. Strong beam, 9.475. Opened floor routien with double layout to knees, 8.775.
Shannon Rowling, Opilly:
Started with a missed vault (8.825), but was solid on the remaining three events. Scored 9.325 on floor, and 9.425 on both bars and beam.
Jessica Atler, Lilly:
Posted the high scores on every event and all-around. Vault 9.475; Bars 9.5; Beam 9.75; and floor 9.65.
Emily Yim, Opilly:
2nd place all-around behind Atler. After missing several vaults in warm-up, landed in competition for a 9.325. Bars was a solid 9.475, and beam and floor both scored 9.5.
Amanda Williams, Opilly:
Vault 9.2, bars 9.3, beam 9.375, floor 9.05, all-around 36.925.
Brittany Maddux, Opilly:
Fall from beam for 8.8, otherwise steady. 9.2 on vault, 9.425 on bars, 9.425 on floor.
Madison Whitney, Lilly:
Great beam routine for a 9.6. Shaky landings on floor, resulting in 8.725. Vault was 9.1 and bars 9.475.
Keshira Smith, Opilly:
Two-falls bars routine (8.475) and weak beam (8.9), but strong vault and floor routines. Second highest vault score of the night with 9.4, and a strong 9.425 on floor.
Lindsey Matthews, Opilly:
8.875 on vault, 9.2 on bars, 8.6 on beam, 8.9 on floor.
