Currently
the largest single building in SE Asia. This tower contains
650 condominium units, 500 serviced apartments, 460
office units and 90 retail units.
The tower has a 40 storey high atrium and is topped
off with a 30m dome which contain leisure areas and
a revolving restaurant at the top. This area provide
a sweeping 360 degree panoramic view of Bangkok and
the Chao Phraya River.
The project took over 10 years to complete. It was
conceived in the early 1990s by Prof Rangsan Torsuwan,
a famous Thai architect and developer who first named
the building Silom Precious Tower before Challenge Group
took over the project in 1994. The building was renamed
Royal Charoen Krung (RCK) and later State Tower.
The building's grand opening is scheduled for May 2004.
