Lyme Disease

As you may have already guessed, I have Lyme Disease and anyone that has it will tell you that it is nothing to fool around with.....It is caused by the bite of a deer tick and although it may seem harmless to you just keep one thing mind....
Malaria is caused from the bite of a mosquito!!  I am in the advanced stages of Lyme Disease and my Dr. thinks that I may have had it since I was a young girl when I was first bitten in California which was nearly 40 years ago!!  You see, Lyme hides in your system and continues to reak havoc with your system very much like Aid's does....it eventually gets into every cell and every organ of your body which, if not treated immediately, can make you very sick and in extreme cases the results may be death.....I am not trying to frighten you but only make you aware....When I got bit a few years ago while living on Cape Cod in Massachusetts my hand swelled all up and I had no idea why but I couldn't move my hand because it was so swollen and none of the Dr.'s knew what was wrong with me either!!   There were no other symptoms other than that at the time.....but in time I grew sicker and sicker until it got to the point where my hands and arms were paralyzed and I was in so much pain that I could barely stand it.....it causes severe arthritis among other things.......I wished at that time that I would die because the pain was just too much to bear.....it took a whole lot of medical tests to finally discover that I had Lyme......the tests don't always show it because it has such a way of hiding in your cells.....I was then put on 6 months of very strong IV anitibiotics in my home and my husband had to nurse me.....That seemed to help enormously !!  I can hardly believe how much better I now feel but I am still in constant pain and I have had to go on disability....I have known of people who haven't survived this horrible disease and unfortunately, a lot of Dr.'s don't take it seriously......If you think you've been bitten by a tick please tell your Dr. that you want every Lyme Test he can think of!!   If you should happen to find a tick on you or your children remove the tick carefully and place it in a sealed jar or baggie and take it to a lab immediately to be tested......if the tick has Lyme than you have Lyme.....I have listed several great sights on the Internet that can give you even
more information than I have so please be sure to check them out.....And if you have any questions, please feel free to E-Mail me....I am more than happy to help
anyone that I can or to offer support to others that are in distress over this disease.
