The Rulebook
Joining
+ Once you have read the rules go to the join board and fill out the whole form about your character in as much detail as you can
+ Once accepted go to the members page and enter your character into our database.
+ Every characters name must be different so if you are not sure if your characters name is taken there is a search on the top of the database.
+ Adding last names is a good way to make your characters name different from the first name already being used but you must then always post with both the first and last name
+ All characters joining must be 15 years or older otherwise we end up with a ton of orphans that would not have survived by themselves anyway.
+ If joining as a Peasant you don't need to post a sample post
+ If joining as a Noble you need to have a sample post
+ You cannot join as a royal but that doesn't mean you can't work your way into the royal family....
General
+ This game is for all levels of role players so those who have been rping for a long time, be patient since we all started in the same boat. Those who are just starting into the rp world put some effort into the posts you make and be ready to get tips on how to improve.
+ This site is for many age groups so keep things as clean as you can with swearing and pictures need to be appropriate
+ No Powerplaying. For those that don't know, that means you cannot post what the other persons character is doing.
+ No Godmoding. Every good character has a weakness. All powerful unbeatable characters get boring especially for others rping with you
+ Peasants are lower than nobility but they have their perks. Trust me.
+ I don't expect you all to get along perfectly but be respectful of other players. We all have feelings even if we only interact through computers. Feel free to disagree but fighting is not needed.
+ Just because someones character doesn't like yours doesn't mean the person behind the character doesn't like you. Keep that in mind.
+ In general characters shouldn't be in more than one place at a time so if you're in the tavern try not to also post in the forest. I'm not terribly strict with this but it can sometimes get confusing.
+ You can make your own shops and houses and I will link them to the site but please don't ask me to make one for you. I will however tell you a good place to go to get a board for one.
+ Every four months is a year in Torin time. Your character must age according to that. Ages will be automatically changed in the database every four months.
+ Events happen randomly but I will announce them when they happen. They will be anything from someone not being able to pay their taxes and spending a night in jail to a character dieing.
+ If you have any questions or find any problems with the site you can post on the OOC board or the Help board. Contact information is also at the bottom of the main page.
Peasants
+ Peasants are the lowest social status and have very little belongings and rights
+ It is unsafe for women peasants to live alone
+ Peasants can own their own homes/farms or live in a nobles castle and work for them.
+ If you don't work for a noble you must have some kind of job or you won't be able to pay taxes
+ Peasants cannot hunt in the forests legally.
+ Peasants should not marry a noble or royal but hey occasionally you get the rebelious noble/royal who falls in love with a peasant. Its not common though...
+ Peasants should show respect to the nobles and royals
Nobles
+ Nobles are in line to marry a royal and should not marry peasants which are below their class. It can happen but it does not happen often
+ Nobles have money and fancy things but money doesn't grow on trees and it can run out
+ It is not safe for women nobles to live alone
+ Nobles own their own castle and lands and can hire peasants to work for them
+ Nobles can hunt in the forests
Royals
+ There must always be a male ruler therefore if the king dies and his only child is a daughter she must marry in order to take the throne as queen.
+ The royals are responsible for running thier side of Torin and making sure they're people are taken care of otherwise they would have nothing to rule
Council Of Nobles
+ The council of nobles consists of any male noble over the age of 18 or any head of the household in a noble house. If a nobleman dies and leaves his 15 year old son his manor then that boy is a member of the council.
+ The council makes decisions on different problems in their side of Torin.
+ The king can hold a council meeting at any time
+ The council has the power to change certain rules throughout Torin
+ There are Head of the Council which are nobles that have a little more say and have the most expirence making decisions. Those positions are handed out by the King.
Guilds
+ Guilds can be for any group of people with something in common.
+ Anyone can request to make a guild but not all will be accepted
+ Guilds can have thier own guidelines as long as they don't go against any of Torin's main rules.
+ Guilds can only have no more than five boards and/or pages that are all linked from one board or page.
The Abbey
+ Any unmarried woman can live in the abbey for any amount of time.
+ The abbey has a church used if two characters want to marry so we can keep track of who is married and not.
+ Orphans can live in the abbey but if they are males then they must leave the abbey by the time they are 16.
+ Any injured or sick can come to the abbey for help.
