The Raiders returned to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1968, when they lost to Vince Lombardi's Packers.
The Silver and Black dominated this game with the running of Clarence Davis and Fred Biletnikoff's
four receptions, which earned him the game's Most Valuable Player trophy. The Raiders built a 16-0 half
time lead, while two fourth quarter interceptions clinched the Super Bowl victory. This game can best
be remembered by the vision of cornerback Willie Brown's 75-yard interception return, a Super Bowl record.

Jim Plunkett starred for the Raiders in their 2nd Super Bowl victory, throwing three touchdown passes,
including an 80-yard strike to Kenny King, as the Raiders became the first wild card team to win the Super
Bowl. Plunkett completed 13 of 21 passes for 261 yards and was Most Valuable Player. The Raiders won
three playoff games to get to the Super Bowl, defeating Houston 27-7, Cleveland, 14-12 and San Diego, 34-27.

The Raiders dominated the game and easily handled Joe Theisman and the Redskins from the beginning.
Defensive and special teams touchdowns highlighted the Raiders rout, most notably Jack Squirek's interception
return for a touchdown just before halftime. Marcus Allen rushed for a Super Bowl-record 191 yards on 20
carries, 74 of which came on a dazzling touchdown run in the third quarter, and was MVP of Super Bowl XVIII.
