A Fight Against Gravity …
Catch Bubbles
Episode 13
The episode begins with Goku meeting King Kai for the first time. King Kai tried to humour Goku with a few jokes, but Goku didn’t get the jokes (or he just thought that they were lame). Goku asked if he could receive training from him. King Kai responded with a no, as he said that the reason was because Goku couldn’t see a punch line coming even if it came and bit him. King Kai said that Goku’s test (in order for him to able to train) would be to make King Kai laugh. Goku was stunned. He tried a joke, but his delivery was off. King Kai, however, still chuckled at the joke. Goku then told King Kai a couple more jokes and King Kai started to crack up.
After King Kai stopped laughing, he told him he could train and be able to master the art of delivering a punch line. Goku then explained to King Kai that he had come for martial arts training. King Kai then understood, and told Goku to fight him. Goku tried to get focused but he found the gravity to quite difficult to deal with. King Kai then realized that Goku was from earth, and he remarked on the fact that Goku was still standing, as the gravity on his planet was 10X that of earth’s.
King Kai then asked how long Goku planned on training on King Kai’s planet. Goku told King Kai that he was going train until the Saiyans arrived on earth. King Kai then used his antennae and figured out that it would take 88 days for the Saiyans to reach earth.
King Kai gave Goku a test, in order to receive training from himself. The test was to catch Bubbles, the monkey, who was very used to the gravity of King Kai’s planet. Goku then began the chase.
Back on earth, Piccolo and Gohan were once again continuing their training. Gohan delivered a massive blow to Piccolo’s face. Piccolo then retaliated with a jarring elbow, knocking Gohan into the river below.
Meanwhile, on King Kai’s planet, Goku continued to chase Bubbles. Goku then took his weighted clothing and resumed the chase. Goku was able to get close to Bubbles, but he was still far from catching him. Goku then heard his stomach rumbling and asked King Kai if he could take a break and eat. King Kai agreed. After having around 20 bowls of food, Goku was full. King Kai then told Goku to put his weighted clothing back on.
Goku asked why, and King Kai explained to him that the Saiyan planet had the same gravity as his, and they always wore weighted clothing. King Kai then told him that it wasn’t even the root to their strength as the Saiyans had a natural instinct to fight. Goku then told King Kai not to worry as he was a Saiyan too.
Meanwhile on earth, Gohan and Piccolo were sitting near the campfire. Gohan then asked Piccolo if he could come to his birthday party. Piccolo answered with a no, angrily. After Gohan had fallen asleep, Piccolo was thinking about how he had never had real before, and that he didn’t like how it felt.
Back on King Kai’s Planet, Goku continued to chase Bubbles. Bubbles then threw a banana peal on the ground and Goku took a tumble. Goku charged at Bubbles again only to hit a tree. Goku then started to gain on Bubbles but then he ran out of energy. After resting for a few seconds, Goku then planned to outsmart Bubbles, by going towards by running around the other side of the planet. Goku surprised Bubbles quite a few times with this. Bubbles then went to rest in a tree, only to find out that Goku was waiting for him there.
Back on earth, Piccolo and Gohan continued their training. Piccolo knocked Gohan off a cliff. Gohan tried to climb up, but he fell right back down again. Gohan, however, tried again.
Meanwhile, Goku was closing in on Bubbles. Goku then caught Bubbles. King Kai was impressed. With Goku having mastered the gravity on the tiny planet, will be able to attain training from the great King Kai? Find out on the next Dragonball Z.
