Kalpana Planetarium | |||||||
Chandigarh, Sept. 8: The Kalpana Chawla Memorial Planetarium being set up at Kurukshetra will have the most advanced opto-mechanical and full dome digital projection system, the first of its kind in India, reports our correspondent. The planetarium, dedicated to Kalpana Chawla who died in the Columbia space shuttle crash in February last year, will be completed before the scheduled date of November 2005. This was disclosed by I.K. Mukerjee, director-general of the National Council of Science Museums, Calcutta, which is helping to set up the planetarium. The director-general said the Rs 6.5 crore being spent on the project is being contributed equally by the Union ministry for culture and the Haryana government. |
