Effective November 6, 1995, the McLaughlin Planetarium Star Theatre and Astrocentre Gallery closed to public access. All public star shows and laser shows are cancelled.
The closing of the planetarium facility has been undertaken as a cost saving measure in response to current and anticipated reductions in the Royal Ontario Museum operating grant.
We regret the disappointment resulting from this necessary closure and appreciate the support and patronage of many millions of visitors over the past 27 years. At this time we are developing concepts and plans for a new and upgraded facility which will continue the planetarium tradition into the new century.
