Thousands of girls got the opportunity of a lifetime when Global TV launched its first ever "Reality TV" series - Popstars. The search was on for 5 girls who could sing, perform, dance and act as role models in Canada's premiere all girl pop group. After thousands of auditions, numerous elimination processes and one very tough boot camp, five girls were chosen - Julie, Sahara, Mirella, Andrea and Maiko.

Sugar Jones was created.

Since the premiere of the bands first video (Days Like That) on Much Music on April 16th, the band has been kept busy with a lot of exciting work. The single for Days Like That was released on May 1st, and the full album on June 26th. If you haven't already bought the album, make sure you pick it up because you don't want to miss out!

Sugar Jones have been making themselves known by travelling across Canada doing autograph sessions and performances. The girls even made their first TV appearance on the Mike Bullard show, and opened up a Raptors game by singing the national anthem. One of the most amazing things Sugar Jones has had the opportunity to experience since the creation of the band is being asked to tour with Destiny's Child on their Canadian dates. So it seems that Sugar Jones is not just a one hit wonder band created for the sake of a TV show. The girls have gelled together to form something unique to Canada - and they have already caught the respect of many big named groups around the world.

Sugar Jones may be coming to your town soon!!!! Yes!! They've got their very own cross-country tour planned, which kicks off on Sept. 13th on the West Coast.
