The History of Tae Kwon Do
   

   
Tae Kwon Do started thirteen hundred years ago in what they called west Korea. The Martial Art was created for the Korean Army. This Self-Defense art is based on the Earlier Korean form called Ty Kyon. Tae Kwon Do is a  weapon less Martial art which means kick and punching art.
      They ranked themselves with belts of different colors. The reason that the blackbelt is the highest belt is because every one started out with a with belt and over time the belts become soiled and dirty until they are nearly black.
       Skill Martial artist started to open schools to who ever was willing to learn. They also made profits off the schools.
       The art of Tae Kwon Do Became popular when Jhoon Rhee "The Father of American Tae Kwon Do" came to the country. Jhoon Rhee taught the importance of Tae Kwon Do and its benifits. Beacause of him Tae Kwon Do is now the  most popular Martial Art in the world. It is also an Olympic Sport.
