The test is run from http://www.oocities.org/torrega index.html Which runs administer.html ,shakeup.html and questions.js internally. These are heavily revised versions of a js quiz in JavaScript Application Cookbook by Jerry Brandenbaugh.

Before publishing the new version prn2js.bat is run to create the latest questions array. It formats the javascript with WORDOUT.FEXhtm, prn2js.awkjs and prn2js.sed which also quietly handles special foreign lanquage caracters. A good reference for these is the HTML Tag List: Character set.
In order to add words to the list I update a FOCUS database,wordlist.mas. To do so I start a DOS Focus 6.01 session with RunFocus.bat, which automatically runs PROFILE.FEX . I manually execute wordload.fex with the high and low vocabulary scale of the, lesson or, set of words to be entered. The old vocabulary scale is printed in the Johnson O'Connor Foundation Vocabulary Workbooks. After an entire workbook is entered I run a spell check WORDCHK.FEX, spellchk.bat for that WorkBook only.
I provide myself with a list of eight or fewer character words, WORDONLY.FEX, sorted in the order they are accessable in the DISTAR reading program wordwhen.sno. Which I use as a supplement to the words in the Teach your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons.
Programs for searching the database are ENUMERAT.FEX, LOOKUP.FEX, LOOKDEF.FEX and LOOKWORD.FEX.
Some programs for fixing entries are very specialized DIRE.FEX, KILLBLNK.FEX. Some, NEWDEFN.FEXfoc, write other programs ANEWDEFN.Fex. And finally there are those that are edited to suit, SPELLING.FEX.
