Pictures coming as soon as I dig them out of my home computer :)
Cuora amboinensis- Malayan box turtle Origin: Southeast Asia This is easily one of my favorites of the Asian turtle species. They are inexpensive and in my experience one of the hardiest of any of the turtle and tortoise species I work with. The animals in my care will eat almost anything placed in front of them and have been laying eggs for the past 3 years. My setup is about 50:50 in terms of land and water. Depending on the animal and the time of day, the animals spend about half of their time in the water and about half on land. Having access to an area where they can swim is essential for the species. They are omnivorous but seem to particularly enjoy earthworms and mice. At least in my animals, the male is about 50% larger than the female.
