Testudo marginata-  Marginated tortoise        Origin: Greece

My experiences with this species are limited to a couple of captive bred and hatched animals which while thriving, have started to develop pyramiding problems as seen above.  Adults are difficult to come by for breeding projects at this time in the United States whereas they are much more common in the European tortoise community.
