Interesting Turtle Rehabilitation Case

A nasty fracture of the left side of the maxilla as well as a
mandibular symphysis fracture. (the turtle has been completely anesthetized for this procedure utilizing an IV drug combination) |

The maxilla has been wired back together and surgical glue
applied to the soft tissues for proper tissue apposition. The mandible has been fixed using the surgical glue and surgical tape fixation method. Future procedures on this animal will include assistance in egg laying (too depressed to risk it now), placement of a feeding tube, and reconstructive beak surgery. |
