What's going on...

Toshi sure took advantage of his business trip to India and had a chance to pick up where he left off 25 years ago.  Toshi visited Goa, the place he'd gone for his class trip in his senior high-school year.  There was an unexpected meeting  with a friend from New York.  Only if the whole Ikeshima family could be there.  Well, maybe next time.

Hiroko and Taiki was in Japan for Taiki's Middle School entrance exam.  That left Toshi and Kota on our own for two weeks.  We both woke up early to prepare our own breakfast and even lunch bags.  We went grocery shopping on the weekend and indulged in gourmet cooking.  When Kota's school was out due to a snow, Toshi called it a snow day for him too.  We did snow shoveling and later went for sledding.  We actually enjoyed this opportunity, but we are also very glad that Hiroko is now back.  The Japanese page has Kota's take on this.

In the meantime, Taiki is in Tokyo preparing for the school exam. He is holding a talisman  from Kitano Shrine, a shrine dedicated to the god of learning.

This is not Alaska.  It is Hudson River frozen!
