Sample Letter to Senator Russ Feingold
Senator Feingold,
The Total Information Awareness program of the Defense Department's Information
Awareness Office is the "greatest invasion of individual privacy and the most
extensive violation of the Fourth Amendment that has ever occurred in American
history," according to a November 19, 2002 editorial by the San Francisco
Chronicle. The New York Times, Washington Post, former Vice-President Al Gore,
and Senators Robert Byrd, Byron Dorgan, Dianne Feinstein, and Bill Nelson have
all expressed their opposition to the program.
Please use your last month as chairman of the Subcommittee on the Constitution
to defend the privacy of all Americans. Please investigate the numerous abuses
of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution perpetrated by the Total Information
Awareness program. Thank you.
Sincerely,
