This letter was finally approved by  Mayor Marides Carlos Fernando last November 3 2008 with her handwritten notations "OK" in every item. Her approval served as the marching order.

           We wish to thank you for your support to the concept of 1st Marikina Kundiman Contest presented to you by Marist School and Knights of Columbus, Concepcion Council 7631.

           After some planning and consultations, as per your handwritten notes, it was decided that the event be held at the Kapitan Moy, from 6 to 11:00 PM on December 14, Sunday, with a formal dinner for around 200 audience in Filipiniana attire while 20 to 30 contestants from different cities and municipalities of  Metro Manila and selected barangays of Marikina are singing.The Marist PTA, headed by your Consultant, will shoulder the expenses and will manage this project in behalf of Marikina City Government, Marist School and Knights of Columbus Concepcion Council 7631.

            In this connection, we wish to seek your final approval on the following for us to start the detailed preparations soonest:

1. Free use of Kapitan Moy and its sound system.

2. Free use of Marikina Rondalla as contestant’s accompaniment and for their scheduled practice.

3. Office of the Mayor to sponsor the main award: a Championship Trophy plus P20, 000 cash.
